About
Tammy St. James
Tammy St. James is an author and creative storyteller whose work explores Black life, faith, family, memory, culture, and the complicated truths people carry behind closed doors. She is the author of After the Benediction, Book One in The Saints of Mercy series, a Southern historical fiction series set in Mercy, Alabama. Through layered characters, Black church culture, family expectations, marriage, desire, reputation, and long-held secrets, Tammy creates stories rooted in community while exploring what happens when private choices collide with public faith. Beyond fiction, Tammy St. James also creates premium adult coloring books celebrating Black culture, church memories, style, family traditions, travel, beauty, and everyday life. Titles such as Brims High, Raised in the Front Pew, and Sunday Had a Sound are designed to feel familiar, culturally recognizable, beautiful to color, and meaningful enough to keep. Across both fiction and creative publishing, the heart of Tammy St. James’s work remains the same: telling stories and creating experiences that honor Black life with warmth, depth, beauty, and honesty.
