About
The Smoke

I was only in the third grade Elementary School when I embarked on a journey of exploration through the pages of the Bible. It all began with my quest to uncover the origin of my name, which my mother had mentioned was derived from the Bible. Intriguingly, she also shared with me a unique tradition that my father had followed. Upon my birth, he carefully preserved a piece of my umsbilical cord skin, dried it, and affixed it to the pages of the Bible. This ritual extended to my first haircuts and trimmed fingernails, which were also delicately pinned to the pages of the dictionary and the Bible. These acts of devotion and prayer by my parents instilled in me a deep reverence for religion and a fervent dedication to studying the Bible. As I delved into its teachings, I found myself drawn to various Christian sects in my pursuit of the ultimate Truth. Over the years, I became a member of more than ten different Christian denominations, seeking answers and spiritual fulfillment. However, it was during my time as an Overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia that I stumbled upon the answers to my questions within the pages of the Holy Quran. In the month of June, in the year 2000, while residing in Riyadh, I made the life-altering decision to embrace Islam. It was a profound moment of clarity and conviction, as I discovered the Truth I had been seeking.
