About
Tim Dalton
I was born in the city of Hull, East Yorkshire in the UK in 1962, which meant that I experienced some of the best music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90 and the 00s. Leaving school at 16 to work as a stagehand at a small arts theatre, which promoted Sunday night rock concerts, introduced me to the thrill and smell of live music. It wasn’t long before I was touring and rose through the ranks learning my trade as a roadie, driver, backline tech, monitor engineer, front of house engineer, tour manager, band manager, company owner and A&R manager. At the age of 30, after 14 years of working in the music industry I became a full time mature student at the University of Humberside where I completed a BA (Hons.) degree in Documentary Communications, this was followed by a Post Graduate Teaching degree (University of Huddersfield) and a Masters degree with a thesis titled ‘The Imagery Iconography and Semiotics of Heavy Metal Music’ from the University of Leicester. I now live in Melbourne, Australia
