Sixty-something entrepreneur living in Staffordshire. Two grown children, a grandson and the dream of a gentler life. In my past life, I worked as a police officer, the latter part as a detective in the inner city of Birmingham, one of the most cosmopolitan and challenging cities for policing in the UK. Those years provided me with countless sad, scary, humorous and tragic experiences and memories. I wouldn’t swap a minute of them. Each broadened my perception and perspective of the human condition and supplied me with valuable fodder for the Valentina series of books you will find on these pages. In what little spare time I do have, I’m an avid photographer and keen family historian. My biggest shock was discovering my great-grandfather was one of the original ‘Peaky Blinders’.
