Antoin McCaffery is the creator of the My Gaelic Hero children’s book series, a collection of personalised stories designed to inspire young readers through the magic of Gaelic games. His books place children at the centre of the story, turning them into the hero on the pitch and encouraging confidence, teamwork, and a love of sport. Growing up with a deep connection to Gaelic games, Antoin understands the powerful role that clubs, coaches, and communities play in shaping young people. Through colourful illustrations and engaging stories, his books capture the excitement of stepping onto the pitch, believing in yourself, and discovering that the real magic comes from practice, friendship, and determination. The My Gaelic Hero series includes stories for both Gaelic football and soon Camogie/Hurling, with characters that reflect the energy and spirit of young players across Ireland and beyond. Each story is designed to help children see themselves as capable, brave, and part of something special. When he isn’t writing, Antoin is actively involved in coaching and supporting Gaelic games, continuing to inspire the next generation both on and off the field.
