This Is Murder

A sophisticated, lively crowd of young people from Hollywood's gay throng, aboard a yacht anchored off Catalina for a hilarious party. Murder strikes just as a three-day fog, thick, sinister, impenetrable, shuts down on them--the murderer still on board, the police helpless ashore. The party is given as a promotion stunt for the arrestingly beautiful young actress who is to be starred in "Blue Lagoon", and includes a brilliant film director, an airplane manufacturer, a publicity agent who stops at nothing, a South American Hindu posing as an Indian rajah, a columnist seeking lurid bits for her scandal sheet--and a mystery story writer. Young Mallory, the mystery writer, is not a detective, but at least he keeps his head when a wave of fear swoops down in the wake of murder. Delving into the pasts of the motley crowd on board, he is suddenly caught in a web of intrigue, international in scope. Can it be tied with the murder? A racy tale of murder, mystery and foreign entanglement.
