Red Goes Home
The Tales of Bart Bantam
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The Tales of Bart Bantam series continue as Bart notices a red horse asleep on his way home from school. As the scene progresses, Red wakes up, and Bart and "Old Red" begin a path of true friendship. We have Bart's friends entering this very special and unique circle, and Red becomes even more of a legend than before. His winning races set him up for recognition by his peers, but Red's commitment to friendship immortalizes him to those who came to know him simply as, "Grandpa". Touching upon Red's journey through life is delicately and poignantly expressed. And those who love him are left with such hope for the future, as a surprise addition to the farm carries on Red's legacy.
This story is filled with beautiful illustrations, and the picture story radiates acts of kindness and friendship. Bart and his friends only want their friend, Red, to feel loved and to remain a vital part of the community. As Red ultimately reaches his final finish line, their friendship leaves an everlasting impact on everyone. Sensitive and caring, kind, and gentle are this story’s hallmarks. Although solemn at the end of the tale, there is a celebration in a life well lived and a fellowship made strong.
The death of a loved one is difficult to express. But the delicacy in the story's narrative and the circle of life theme leaves the reader with an assurance that love will find a way to uplift even the heaviest of hearts. As Dr Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
This poignant book is a tender story to read to younger ones. It is also meant as a beginner reader's book for primary school readers ages 7 and up.
Although this is a series, each story is independent from the others. Bart and his best friend, Buddy, are a constant in all of the books, and characters from other books periodically show up for story line purposes. Not having read any book/books before this one is not at all detrimental to the enjoyment of this book.
So, share in the fellowship of Bart and his friends in their latest adventure.
