Fred Whissel is an author, photographer, artist, woodworker, ham radio operator, and...retired. A Vietnam-era Army Security Agency veteran, he spent more than a year in Africa with the U.S. Army Security Agency (Ethiopia), where he served as editor of the post weekly newspaper for 2,500 military and civilian citizens. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Professional Photographers Association, and numerous other organizations.
