ANTEROS is one of Lawrence's most mature tales, set entirely in England, a romantic mystery involving a deceitful woman in the vein of Lady Audley. Our action hero has to uproot the "secret" which, alas, thwarts romance but keeps honor alive now and forever. A novel by the author of 'Guy Livingstone' (i.e. George Alfred Lawrence). George Alfred Lawrence (1827-1876) was a sensation novelist of a different ilk than Wilkie Collins or M. E. Braddon.
