Rocket Riders Across the Ice

The first volume the "Rocket Rider" series, this is one of the rare books for young readers that Howard R. Garis wrote under his own name. Inspired by the world-famous exploits of rocket pioneer Max Valier, the series is devoted to the application of rocket power to every imaginable form of locomotion. Sadly, the series was canceled before Garis could write a promised adventure in outer space.
