Derek Fell

Retired police Inspector Derek Fell, now a clientless Private Eye, looked at how much the weeds had grown in his once pristine back garden since he officially became a senior citizen after nearly thirty odd years of service in the ranks of the boys in blue and thought, I suppose I should do something about them sooner rather than later, but it was the constant ding dong ding donning that made Derek snap out of his dreamlike state and he knew who that was because there was only one person who had the audacity to keep his finger on the front doorbell and that was Chief Inspector Jimmy Clark, but instead of his usual, ‘are you sure you’re okay after your fall,’ all Jimmy said was, ‘he’s back.’
