Dark Rosaleen

Ireland 1796 - the dream that became a nightmare Dark Rosaleen is the romantic, tragic story that follows one of Ireland's greatest patriots. A fictionized biography of one Lord Edward Fitzgerald, and his lovely wife, daughter of the Duc D'Orleans, exile from France after the Revolution. They go to his home in Ireland, but are not allowed to remain in peace, as he is virtually forced into the position of leader of the rebels and member of a secret society plotting with France against England. It is a bitter tale, not one of ardent patriotism and willing sacrifice, and the plot comes to a disastrous end, and Lord Edward dies of his wounds in jail.
